2/1/02 Gee, What a Shock By Jim Shipley So, there is irrefutable proof that the Palestinian Authority consorted with the Ayatollahs of Iran for the purchase of a boat full of death. It seems that Yassir Arafat, never a clever man, got caught with his hand in the cookie jar of terrorism again. Gee, what a shock. The man is an unreconstructed terrorist. He is the slimiest, most despicable type of human being. And this dude got a Nobel Prize. Go figure. He lies to the Israelis, he lies to the Americans, he lies to his own people. He has two plans. One is to destroy the State of Israel and kill as many of the Jewish people as possible. The second is to sock away as much of the money given to the PA and the Palestinian people as possible. The U.S. and much of the civilized world have pledged to rebuild the nation of Afghanistan. Three billion is already on the way. It will pay civil servants who have not been paid for the better part of a year; it will begin to rebuild an electric grid and get an education system started. It will not be enough and some of it of course, will disappear into the coffers of the various war lords who hold sway over much of the nation. Hamid Karzai, the titular head of the new Afghan government says he will make the process of spending the money “transparent”. We wish him luck on that, but people are people and in a land where there has been no law except the Taliban for the past twenty years, fiscal responsibility does not grow overnight. -2- Now, a few years ago Yassir Arafat came with open palm to the world and said “we need money to ‘rebuild’ our populated areas”. Nonsense! The area which the Oslo accord gave to the PA had roads, electricity (both courtesy of Israel) and a semblance of order. So, where did the money (more than the first tranche headed for Afghanistan) go when the world gave it to the PA? Not into roads, or infrastructure or collecting garbage or fixing potholes or creating businesses or building low cost housing or creating trade schools or any of that. Nope. It just kind of disappeared. But, since it was Arabs and Jews, the world said not a word. Well, now we know where $400,000 of it went. It bought an old ship. Some more of it went to Iran who filled the ship with weapons (no doubt at rock bottom prices). How could any government or group of governments (outside of Iran) or any international banking organization ever trust Yassir Arafat? In a January 10th article in the Wall Street Journal, Ion Mihai Pacepa, former head of the Romanian foreign intelligence service during the Soviet days, tells all about “The Arafat I Know”. Arafat was trained by the KGB and became a dedicated Marxist/Leninist. His KGB mentor was General Aleksander Sakharovsky, the chief Soviet intelligence advisor in Romania, responsible for the death of 50,000 Romanians. The KGB with the help of Nassar of Egypt managed to make Arafat head of the PLO. Not long after, Arafat and his top deputy, Abu Jihad, organized teams to kidnap American Diplomats in Khartoum, the Sudan and demand the release of Sirhan Sirhan, Robert Kennedy’s assassin. The operation was carried out and resulted in the deaths of three American Diplomats. So, the so called “partner in peace” should be arrested for the murder of Americans. Page Two of Three -3- There is further evidence that Arafat was the man behind the Munich massacre of the Israeli Olympic Athletes. Evidence that he has had his own people assassinated to further his own ends. He should be gone. You do not do business with a terrorist. You do not do business with a person who is psychologically unable to tell the truth. You do not do business with a person who has sworn an oath to kill you and your children. You eliminate him. It matters little that the one who replaces him will be not much better. We know what Yassir Arafat is and that is enough. There is clear and ample evidence that the WAQF of the PLA is destroying priceless artifacts on the Temple Mount daily. At the just concluded “Religious Summit” in Cairo, there was a statement that “…freedom of religious worship must be ensured for all”. But, the PA Police Mufti told the Jerusalem Post that “Jews have no right to go there (The Temple Mount) this is a mosque – the whole Temple Mount”. Jews do have a right to be there – much more than the Moslems, but let them keep their Dome. Jews have a right to be anywhere they want to be, in peace and security. It does not appear that Yassir Arafat will allow that. He must go, Jews must take back the Temple Mount and either kill or imprison all the leadership of Hamas, Jihad and Tanzim. They kill women and children in retribution for Israel killing armed terrorists. The Arab mind. So far as Hezbollah is concerned, it would seem that the Bush administration has Syria under control for now. But, if that becomes a threat, so be it. Jews will once again have to fight for their land. Gee what a shock. |
